Final Accountings
A judge may order an emergency guardian to file a Final Accounting report in circumstances where that individual was not appointed as the plenary guardian. Unlike the other guardianship reports, a Final Accounting report is not completed through the GTS, but it nonetheless remains important to capture this information. The courts can register and track these reports in the GTS using three complimentary processes.
Record the Court Order
When the judge orders an emergency guardian to submit a final accounting report, it is important to add the corresponding case action. The filing type Order of Court - Accounting Ordered is used to complete this action.

The Outstanding Final Accounting Report
Your court office has the ability to track cases where an accounting has been ordered, but remains unsubmitted, using the Outstanding Final Accounting Report. This report, available through the Ad Hoc Reports section of the Dashboard, specifically shows cases where the Order of Court - Accounting Ordered case action has been added but not the Final Accounts Filed case action. This report can be provided to the judge to determine any actionable steps that need to be taken.

Record the Final Accounting Report
A Final Accounting report is not created in the GTS like an Inventory or Guardian of the Person or Estate reports. These reports must be submitted through traditional means, such as the regular mail or in-person at the court office. Once received, however, it is important to record this event using the Final Accounts Filed case action. An electronic version of the report should be uploaded to this case action so this documentation is available like any other guardian report.
